WordPress 4.7 “Vaughan” Released

WordPress recently released version 4.7 of their platform, titled Vaughan. The newest version of WordPress is named after the jazz vocalist, Sarah “Sassy” Vaughan, and is available for download or can be updated through your WordPress dashboard. The 4.7 version of WordPress is full with brand new features, all of which can be seen outlined below:

A new and improved default WordPress theme:

With an all new version of WordPress comes an all new default theme for your website. The new default theme comes complete with immersive images and video headers to make your website stand out.

The Twenty Seventeen template comes ready to help business websites with a customizable front page and multiple different sections. You can personalize Twenty Seventeen with widgets, social menus, a logo, navigation, and much more. This new theme is perfect for many different languages, devices, and all kinds of different users.

Your WordPress Site, Your Way:

Theme Starter Content:
WordPress 4.7 makes it easier for users to customize and helps through the initial setup of a theme by giving users access to non-destructive live previews of all your changes in one uninterrupted workflow.

Before you publish you can test out different customizations like placing a business information widget, creating a sample menu with social icon links, or a static front page that comes complete with many different images.

Edit Shortcuts:
When you are customizing your website, WordPress now provides many helpful icons to help you along the way. These icons are used to show what elements on your website can be customized during live previewing. Click on one of these icon shortcuts to begin editing right away.

Video Headers:
Having a video header can be a great way to catch a visitor’s attention and to show off your business. The new Twenty Seventeen theme gives you the opportunity to place video headers on your site and if you are in need of some inspiration you can search the WordPress website for videos to download and use.

Smoother Menu Building:
Menus can contain links that lead to different pages on your website. In the past website creators would run into problems if the webpage had not been created yet, but now you can add new pages while building menus instead of leaving the customizer and abandoning your changes. As soon as you have published your customizations you will have brand new pages ready for you to fill with content.

Custom CSS:
When you just need to add a few visual tweaks to your website, WordPress 4.7 allows you to add custom CSS and instantly see how the changes affect your website. Don’t worry about page refreshes slowing you down, because the live preview allows you to work quickly.
