Meet Greg – Front-End Web Developer @ HostPapa

From sales, to marketing, to development to customer service to IT, these are the people who are responsible for the well-oiled machine that you trust with your web hosting.

Greg Wise – Front-End Developer and Designer

It’s hard to imagine HostPapa without Greg. Sure, as one of our primary front-end web developers, he is responsible for much of the HostPapa online environment that you see and interact with daily. But he’s also a vital part of the corporate culture here are the office. Over the past five and half years, Greg has proven himself to be not-only a talented developer, but also a jokester and all around great guy (oh yeah, he’s also our office Fire Marshal).

In one or two sentences, describe your job at HostPapa:
I build and maintain the website, email campaigns, Do it for me sites and design work.

Describe yourself in 3 words:
Patient, Outspoken and Fun

Do you have any New Year’s resolutions? If so, what are they?
I have some home improvements I’d like to finish by the end of January.

What do you like to do on your spare time?
Hiking, camping, rock climbing and guitar playing.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wish I could remember.

What apps do you have on your phone that you can’t live without?
Youtube to teach me how to fix things on my car and Spotify to entertain me while I do that.

What desktop applications or websites do you use on a regular basis for your work and why?
Convertcase.net – helps with changing content quickly for html coding.
Tinypng.com – fast way to shrink png images for page speed
Google Chrome dev tools – greatest tool ever for tweaking and trouble shooting websites
Photoshop – ajusting, tweaking and creating graphics and images
Illustrator – creating and adjusting vector graphics
Sublime text and Dreamweaver – HTML editing and HTML email creation
Stack overflow – No matter what my issue is, someone else has already solved it.
There’s probably a lot more that I can’t remember too.

What’s one thing your coworkers might not know about you?
I absolutely can’t stand tomatoes.

What is your greatest memory of working at HostPapa?
We’ve had ping pong tournaments in the past. I am terrible at ping pong but, the interaction between coworkers is amazing and I was able to talk with people I don’t often get to see.
